  • Our homes are energy efficient and built green

    • Certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) assesses the energy efficiency of a home, assigning it a relative performance score. The lower the number, the more energy efficient the home

    • Standard Home Construction typically have HERS index scores of 100

    • Habitat Homes have HERS index scores of 50

    • 50% more efficient than a traditional builder!

  • Special care with sealing, insulation

  • Appliances are ENERGY STAR certified

  • Fixtures use less water

  • Use engineered lumber to save trees

  • Recycle waste whenever possible

  • Healthier paints and materials used

 

Standard Home Design

  • Standard home is 3 bedrooms, 1 Β½ bathrooms

  • Large family home is 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

    • One bedroom for the parent(s)

    • Separate bedroom for children of different sexes

    • No more than 2 children of same sex/bedroom

  • Laundry Closet

  • Smart wiring for phones & network to living room and bedrooms

  • Whirlpool oven range and refrigerator included

  • $500 of option money for upgrades that can include:

    • Ceiling Fans

    • Dishwasher

    • Washer/Dryer

    • Over the range microwave

    • Garbage disposal

Poplar Grove Development

This development in Longmont is the first time Habitat has worked simultaneously on five different homes. Habitat has property to build 21 homes in this development.

These ranch style homes have are being built in the town of Dacono. Habitat is using a similar design in the town of Lyons.
