How to Apply

APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN

We are accepting applications for the following locations.

Estes Park: CLOSED – August 5 – September 30
Longmont: CLOSED - October 1st - 15th

Have you subscribed to our interest list? Once applications open, you will receive an email and/or text notification announcing the opportunity to complete an application and dropping it off at our office.

Complete the Application

Download the application, English | Espanol, and complete all items on the checklist. You can drop them off at our office located at 303 Atwood St. Longmont, CO 80501, Monday – Friday from 9 am-4 pm. If you are applying for Estes Park, you can also drop your application off at the housing authority at 363 E Elkhorn Ave #101, Estes Park, CO 80517.

If you would like to submit your application electronically, we prefer that you do not email it to us, contact our office and we can create a secure link to upload your documents.

Once you have completed all steps on the checklist, please return the application and the accompanying documents to our office. If you need to pick up a paper copy please contact us by scheduling an appointment at info@stvrainhabitat.org.

Take the orientation on the Homebuyer Education website.

Visit the Homebuyer Education Website to watch the orientation video. Register by creating an account. Take the orientation lesson for the area you are applying to. The lesson may consist of 2-4 classes.

  • Take the General Orientation, Area-Specific - Information Class, and any additional classes in the orientation lesson.

  • Print the Certificate of Completion. Once you have completed the course and quiz you will receive a certificate of completion. Print or save the certificate and submit it with your application. This Certificate is part of the documents that we require as part of the Application.

Application review

After we have received all requested documents, part 1 of the application will be evaluated based on your ability to repay a loan. If you meet the minimum requirements, you will be sent part 2 of the application, requesting additional documents. Once you receive the request for additional documents, complete and return those documents as requested. 

If you do not meet the minimum requirements, you will be notified. You can reapply at a future date.

Interview

If we have received all your documents and you meet our minimum requirements, you will be contacted to complete an interview with the Homeowner Selection Committee.

Acceptance and Denial

Please be aware that your application may be denied at any point in the process. We offer a counseling meeting to help you understand why you were denied and offer guidance for reapplying or other options. Once all steps have been completed, we will determine if your application has been approved or denied and you will be notified.
