We are deeply grateful for everyone who joined last week’s Be Love Longmont Summit! The energy and inspiration from Thursday evening’s kick-off event through two days of workshops led by Dr. Vonetta L. West and Nepali Jatra revival of the Inclusive Communities Celebration left us uplifted and ready to show up for our community with compassion, love and courage! More than 300 community members attended the kick-off at the Longmont Theatre Thursday night and 108 participated in the Summit at City Council Chambers. The audience swayed and sang along with a community choir that formed just for the occasion. The trials and transformations of the Civil Rights era were recalled by Curtis Rogers in a dramatic reading of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail.
