Volunteers Needed Starting This June
A new chapter of affordable housing is taking shape in the mountains.
Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley is now building in Estes Park, and volunteers are needed to help bring the Raven Community to life.
Located in the heart of Estes Park, the Raven Community development will include five thoughtfully designed affordable homes for local working families. These three- and four-bedroom homes are being built to create long-term stability, opportunity, and a stronger future for families who live and work in the Estes Valley.
A Build Site with a View — and a Purpose
The Raven build site is located in the 1700 block of Raven Avenue, near Lone Pine Drive and Dry Gulch Road, surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Construction is already underway, with work continuing throughout the coming seasons.
Beginning in June, Habitat will be welcoming volunteers to the Estes build site.
Whether you are an individual looking to give back, a church group seeking a service opportunity, a business team planning a volunteer day, or a local resident wanting to support affordable housing in Estes Park — there is a place for you on the build site.
No Experience Necessary
One of the best parts of volunteering with Habitat is that anyone can help.
You do not need construction experience to volunteer. Habitat staff provide tools, safety equipment, and hands-on guidance throughout the day. Volunteers work alongside construction supervisors, AmeriCorps members, and future homeowners to help build homes, community, and hope.
Typical volunteer tasks may include:
- Framing
- Painting
- Siding
- Landscaping
- Finish work
- General construction support
Volunteers must be 16 years or older to participate on the construction site.
Why This Matters
Affordable housing continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing mountain communities like Estes Park. Habitat’s Raven Community is designed to help create attainable homeownership opportunities for local families who are already part of the community — the people who work in local schools, businesses, nonprofits, hospitality, and essential services.
Every volunteer hour helps move that mission forward.
Habitat homes are not given away. Future homeowners partner with Habitat, invest sweat equity hours, and purchase their homes through affordable mortgage programs. Together, volunteers and homeowners create something lasting: safe, stable housing and stronger neighborhoods.
