What if one Saturday could change a life — including your own? 

At Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, we believe that building a home is one of the most powerful acts of community there is. It takes many hands, many hearts, and people willing to show up — no experience required. 

That’s the spirit behind the Beloved Build Days: a full year of special volunteer build days, each one rooted in celebration, inclusion, and the shared purpose of building homes and hope together. Every second Saturday of the month, we invite the community to join us on the construction site for a day of service, connection, and meaning. 

What Are Beloved Build Days? 

Beloved Build Days are themed volunteer build events held on the second Saturday of each month throughout 2026. Each build day is dedicated to honoring a specific community — whether that’s women, veterans, first responders, youth, or neighbors of different faith and cultural backgrounds — while advancing Habitat’s mission of affordable housing. 

These aren’t just work days. They’re celebrations of the people who make our community whole. 

Volunteers 16 and older are invited to register for a full build day on the construction site. No experience necessary.  All skill levels welcome — Habitat site staff will guide you every step of the way.

Each Build Day Is Its Own Story 

While every Beloved Build Day shares the same foundation — community, service, and the joy of building together — each one has its own identity and special meaning. 

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Build (February 14) 

Our season-opening build honors the legacy of Dr. King by turning his words into action. Inspired by his vision of the Beloved Community, volunteers gather to build not just homes, but the kind of world Dr. King envisioned — one where all people are seen, valued, and housed with dignity. 

Women Build (March 14) 

A day dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in construction and community leadership. Women Build days are a reminder that the building trades — and the movement for affordable housing — have always been powered by women’s strength and vision. 

Salam Build (April 11) 

“Salam” means peace in Arabic — and this build day brings that spirit to the construction site, honoring Longmont’s Muslim community and the shared values of service, generosity, and neighborly care that cross every cultural boundary. 

Beloved Community Build (May 9) 

This is the flagship day of the series — the Beloved Community Build itself. It brings together partners, families, volunteers, and supporters from across Longmont to build side by side, embodying everything the Beloved Community initiative stands for. 

Namaste Build (June 13) 

“Namaste” honors the shared humanity in each of us. This build welcomes Longmont’s South Asian and yoga/wellness communities and everyone who believes that seeing the dignity in others is the first step toward justice. 

All-Ability Build (July 11) 

Everyone can build. The All-Ability Build is designed to be fully inclusive of volunteers of all abilities, ensuring that a physical disability or limitation is never a barrier to serving and contributing meaningfully on the build site. 

Heroes First Responders Build (August 8) 

A day to honor the firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and law enforcement professionals who serve our community every day — and to invite them to build alongside us in a different kind of service. 

Manos Unidas Build (September 12) 

“Manos Unidas” — United Hands — celebrates Longmont’s vibrant Latino community and the spirit of collective effort that has always been at the heart of building and belonging here. 

Pride Build (October 10) 

A build day that celebrates LGBTQ+ community members and allies, affirming that everyone deserves a safe and stable home — and that every person is welcome on Habitat’s build site. 

Veterans Build (November 14) 

We close the season by honoring those who served. The Veterans Build invites veterans, active-duty service members, and their families to build together in a spirit of gratitude, camaraderie, and continued service. 

More Ways to Make a Build Day Special 

Volunteering is just the beginning. There are additional ways to deepen your involvement with Beloved Build Days: 

Sponsor Lunch —  

• Help fuel the crew by sponsoring a meal for volunteers and Habitat staff. It’s a meaningful way for businesses, faith communities, and individuals to show up beyond the build site.  

Lead a Blessing or Reading —  

• Open the day with intention. Community members and faith leaders are invited to offer a blessing, poem, reading, or reflection to set the tone for the day.  

Partner with Beloved Community Efforts —  

• Organizations, congregations, and businesses can partner more deeply with the Beloved Community initiative through sponsorship, presence, and ongoing engagement.
